Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (cabinet.gov.krd) - Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani met with Annika Molin Hellgren, the outgoing Swedish Ambassador to Iraq, as she bid farewell to the region.

Ambassador Hellgren expressed her appreciation to the Prime Minister, Government and the Kurdistan Region for their assistance to the Swedish Embassy.  She also thanked the Peshmerga forces for their heroic actions in their fight against terror and highlighted their accomplishments.

The Ambassador emphasized that the Swedish Government places great importance on their relations with the Kurdistan Region.
She conveyed her desire to see her successor enjoy the same level of support and assistance she received during her time as ambassador from the Kurdistan Region.

Prime Minister Barzani commended the strong bilateral relations between Erbil and Stockholm hoped to continue and develop such cooperation.

The Prime Minister and the Ambassador discussed other topics of interest concerning Iraq and the wider region such as the liberation of Mosul.  He also wished the Ambassador success in her new role.
