Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (cabinet.gov.krd) – Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani met with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Andrew Peek and his delegation.

The improvement of political and economic relations between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad and the successful Iraqi and Kurdistan parliamentary elections were discussed.

They stressed the importance of further development of relations between the KRG and Iraqi federal government and the active participation of the Kurdistan Region in the Iraqi political process.

Prime Minister Barzani welcomed the Iraqi government decision to resume export of Kirkuk oil through the Kurdistan Region pipeline to benefit all Iraqis.

Economic relations of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq with the United States were also discussed.
