Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (cabinet.gov.krd) – Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister, Nechirvan Barzani, received Ms. Serena Moroni, Italian new Consul General to Erbil.

Consul General Serena Moroni expressed her country's desire to have solid relations with the Kurdistan Region in various fields. She also stressed that her country will continue its military and humanitarian support to the Kurdistan Region.

Prime Minister Barzani congratulated Ms. Moroni on her new position, assuring her of his government’s full support during her mission in the Kurdistan Region.

Highlighting the opportunities for investment in various sectors, Prime Minister Barzani expressed his government’s support for Italian companies, desiring to invest in the Kurdistan Region.

The two sides also discussed the latest developments in the battle to liberate the City of Mosul from ISIS terrorists, as well as regional political issues.
